The Arden Diamondbacks U11 Lacrosse team placed second in a National Club Lacrosse Tournament. In 2009 new con-struction changed the street view of the church by adding a new auditorium and school wing.Ĭhurch members are very happy to talk about not only their building accomplishments but also the building of lives the church has witnessed over the course of 45 years.
A gym was built in 1994, providing basketball, volleyball and fellowship space. “The school is a big part of our church ministry,” said Levi Leeder, a staff member at OBC. The church started different ministries as it grew, adding Odenton Christian School in 1977. Property and a building was purchased from the Kiwanis Club in March 1976.
As membership at the young church grew so did the need for a place to meet. The accomplishments of the congregation during the 45 years are many. Miklaus left Odenton in 1990 to pastor a church in Pennsylvania. They originally met in a house on Montgomery Avenue. Dave Miklaus, the first pastor of Odenton Baptist Church, could count on one hand the people that started the church in 1967. The celebration brought to close a week of evangelistic meetings.
